Explorer Shortcuts.

Hi I'm just curious about the explorer shortcuts.

The type of shortcuts that I'm curious about are the ones with % around them, such as: %systemdrive% or %userprofile%. I have scored the internet but haven't been able to find anything about them

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

The shortcuts with a percentage character on either side is just a short way to write or navigate to the shell folders in Windows, for example the user folder can change with each user name, but the shortcut %USERPROFILE% will always navigate to the currently logged in user, this is true for a lot of the shell folders, they may exist in their default location, or not, and that shortcut will always locate the correct folder. For example the system drive may not be C, it may be D, but %systemdrive% will always find that drive . . .
