I had major problems with screen flickering. Not device manager so I began uninstalling apps. Then reinstalling. All of a sudden after weeks the flickering is gone and I do not know what caused it.

I have no idea what Visual Studio is, but I uninstalled  a few versions, 2005, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2017. I still have Visual C ++2015-2019 redistributable (x86)-14.22.27821. Do I have to download all the earlier versions or can I leave out?

    Thank you for the informations.

My sincere apologies, I didn't realize that the translator had broken the link.

To access it, use the link:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versi...

and at the end of the link add (v=vs.90), only if you want to have some more information.

I believe that in this case you don't need to remove the rest, and you can keep it that way, if in the future you use any software that needs this add-on, it will be installed again.

    I await news.

Are you really using Visual Studio?

These are tools for a programmer. Are you coding? Visual Basic, C++, etc...

    Hello Paloma

When I click on your link this is what I get:

    404 - Page not found

Hmm, we couldn't find this link, but here are some related search results that may be helpful.

Should I be reinstalling the entire thing or just those that I have removed?

    Hi grammyclown,

Some applications are built with a specific Visual C++ version. I wouldn't worry about having to reinstall all of them back. If you start having application issues I would look into the application and reinstall the C++ that you don't have installed.

    Hello, how are you?

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community!

My name is Paloma B., I'm an independent advisor, I'm here to help you in the best possible way.

I understand that you had screen flicker problems, more than good that they were solved.

The Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) installs runtime components of Visual C++ Libraries required to run applications developed with Visual C++ on a computer that does not have Visual C++ 2008 installed.

This package installs runtime components of C Runtime (CRT), Standard C++, ATL, MFC, OpenMP and MSDIA libraries. For libraries that support side-by-side deployment model (CRT, SCL, ATL, MFC, OpenMP) they are installed into the native assembly cache, also called WinSxS folder, on versions of Windows operating system that support side-by-side assemblies. For more information on supported ways of deployment for Visual C++ applications, Click the link below.
