Windows Explorer does not parse files/folders

Hello,

I've noticed that when I do right mouse button on a file or folder, windows explorer becomes very slow. It takes 30 seconds to get a popup menu.

Further on, if the files are on onedrive /synced sharepoint folder/ I cannot parse them with explorer, but I can parse them with windows powershell.

Why does Explorer hang and need a hard shutdown if I press right mouse button on a folder in Explorer, but works perfectly well to browse in powershell?

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues with File Explorer on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. Does this issue occur while accessing a particular file or all the files?
    2. Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
    3. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

I would suggest you to download and run the troubleshooter, which will automatically diagnose and repair problems with files and folders in Windows. Refer the article Automatically diagnose and repair Windows file and folder problems

If the issue persist, you can try creating a new user account and check. Refer the article Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
