Why is my computer showing a hard drive and a local disk?

I can see my laptops C drive and its recovery drive but for some reason a local disk Z drive popped up. I'm a bit concerned bc i need admin privliages to access it (which i have) but it won't let me. What can i do about this to learn more about it or l completely remove it if it's bad?
