how do I fix error code

Question

I'm trying to install drivers (my OS is Windows 10) for my Brother DCP-L2540dwDW printer/scanner; when I do, I get the above error message.

Can someone please tell me how to fix it?

Hi Paloma,

                In my last reply, I indicated that after running SFC, DISM,  CHKDSK, then rednloading the  Brother full driver& sftware pkg., the sftware portion was still missing. However, after giving it one more try next day, I found a CC4 icon on the taskbar,clicked it and the missing portion opened. It appears functional. Yet, the brother print program is not listed on start menu, or shown as a desktop icon. I will contact Brother to check out these features.                                                                                                                                                                                      Happily, it appears that that the procedures resolved the major problem, so thank you,

Hi Paloma,

               As far as I can tell, I ran the Win Verif. procedures, and they reported no problems.(no integrity violations found).  Then downloaded Brother Full Driver and software pkg.-wireless Network. I found the file(DCP-L2540dw-inst-C1-us.exe)  on C:.  But again, it was incomplete; the software portion was missing(utilities apps.)

In this case, we can try to perform the Windows verification procedure and know if there are any problems to be corrected.

Please perform the procedures below, and at the end try to install again to see if the problem still happens.

SFC, DISM and CHKDSK.

Use the Windows disk, file and image correction tool

1. On the desktop, press the Windows + X keys, and select Windows Powershell (Admin);
2. Copy and paste the following commands, one line at a time, followed by Enter:

sfc /scannow

dism /online /cleanup-image /CheckHealth

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

chkdsk /f /r /b

To schedule a disk check, confirm with the S key and press Enter, and restart the equipment.

***IMPORTANT***

This is a process that can take considerable time to complete.

I was trying to (not install) but to Reinstall the complete Brother printer 'full driver and software pkg.-wireless network'(for the DCP-L2540dw). Each attempt was  blocked midway -- Received Error: "cannot start app. installer---[C:users/LouRossi\downloads\install\data\disk1\setup.exe/clone-wait/10x0009."    After many failed attempts by myself but then  Brother,it downloaded,  (BUT, the software portion did not dnload.)  At this point, Brother had no further solution, and suggested it an OS problem. One point along the way, another message popped up;  "printer installations-error code:OX00000020.
