Hi.
I don't have any USB boards, the only USB devices I use are my keyboard, mouse and wireless USB headset.
I have the latest windows update and all the latest drivers from my motherboard manufacturer.
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000001e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff8034ca5a2f4, 0x0000000000000001, 0xffffe709d16919b0). Report Id: effc0686-8d8a-4596-8b31-907497e33424.
My PC keeps rebooting at random times with no BSOD, so I stopped the PC restarting on system failure. The BSOD now says KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED.
I ran the verifier cmd and it crashes every time with the BSOD stopcode: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. I used safe mode to turn off the verifier because it would crash before I could do it in time.
Please help

Hey there Andy! Driver Verifier blames another USB driver. It has already blamed USBXCI, HIDCLASS and now SIUSBXP.
This last however was more descriptive and it seems to be USBXpress from Silicon Laboratories (Silabs). Do you recognise this? It seems like a USB connectivity board and we can guess it's probably its issue. I have however seen some people reporting that may also be connected to a RAM issue, so we'll have to look over all the possibilities.
However, before anything else, have you checked your device for Windows Updates? You can check as well your manufacturer's website to see if there is any driver missing that may be causing these issues.
I'll wait for your reply.
Miguel Ángel :)
Hi, thanks for your reply.
I did as you said, I unplugged all my USB devices except my keyboard and mouse.
I ran both of the commands and got this back:
Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.19041.572
Image Version: 10.0.19042.685
[==========================100.0%==========================] The restore operation completed successfully.
The operation completed successfully.
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
I did the clean boot and it got BSOD before I got to the login screen this time, the stopcode this time was DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION. I only got 1 minidump this time instead of 3

I can send the memory dump too if that's any help.
I ran the verification test in safe mode too but didn't get any BSOD.
Hey there Andy!
My name is Miguel Ángel and I'm an independent advisor, also a Microsoft user just like you! I'll try to help you today with your issue!
I've checked over the minidumps uploaded and they refer to a problem regarding USB connections or drivers (blaming USBXCI.sys and HIDCLASS.sys).
Please, unplug all the USB devices that you have connected to the computer.
First of all, make sure all Windows Updates are installed, all drivers are updated and BIOS is updated as well, everything with the latest installation possible. Try as well to unplug all USB devices that are plugged to the computer, since probably one of them is causing this.
Then, we will do some system files check, even though it's what is usually suggested, just in case. Follow these steps:
> dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
> sfc /scannow
Then, we will try to check if the issue persists in Clean Boot and Safe Mode.
Perform a clean boot following the steps given in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-t... and see if issues continue happening. Report back with some feedback!
I would as well try to run your system in Safe Mode. Generally, if issues persist in Safe Mode it's because it may be hardware related. You can find the instructions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...
Remember anyways the importance of having everything up to date, including drivers, BIOS and Windows Updates. I can help if you send me your device model, so we can take a look at the latest updates.
I'll wait for your answer. Stay safe!
Miguel Ángel :)
