Has anyone has this sort of a scenario whereby if you update your pre-activated Windows 10 Pro Education and then it gets updated to Windows 10 Enterprise and starts asking you for a product key ?

I have tried a couple of times to reinstall the Windows 10 Pro but the installation does not complete and I am forced to roll-back to a previous version , which may have been due to some driver issue as I looked it up a bit.

Can anyone suggest an effective way to pull out driver issues so that Windows can be installed?

    Hi Shivam

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Is it definitely Windows 10 Pro Education that was previously installed on your PC and not just the pro version?

    If so:

    Disconnect totally from the Internet

Open the Settings App (Gear icon on your Starr Menu)

Go to Update and Security - Activation

    Click Change Product key

Enter this generic product key: 8PTT6-RNW4C-6V7J2-C2D3X-MHBPB

    When prompted, click 'Activate Product'

If the above does not work first time, try again . ..

Note the generic key will cause Enterprise to downgrade to the Education Pro edition, then your own legal licence will activate automatically after you restart (not shut down) your PC
