    Good Day EarlKinter,

My name is Carlo, I'm an Independent Advisor and community member like you.

I am also using Windows 10. Let us work together to sort this out.

Here's the steps you can try.

Restore the power plans to default settings, follow these steps:

-Click Start type CMD , run it as administrator

-Copy and paste the command below and hit enter.

    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

Windows 10 introduced something I've seen referred to as a "Hybrid shutdown". Apparently this causes shutdown problems with Windows, and can be disabled by:

Windows menu > Settings > System > Power & sleep > Additional power settings > Choose what the power button does > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Scroll down to the Shutdown settings : uncheck Fast Startup.

On the Power Options page, find your power plan and select Change plan settings. When plugged in, change the settings to "Never". Select to change advanced power settings.

Under "Hard disk", change "Turn hard disk off after" to 0, which should change it to "Never".

Select "Sleep". Change "Sleep after" to 0, which should change it to "Never".

Under "Allow hybrid sleep", select "Off".Change "Hibernate after" to "Never".

Once done proceed with these steps.

Allow keyboard and mouse to wake up the pc.

    Step 1:Press Windows Key + X

         2. Go to Device Manager

3.Expand Mice and other pointing devices entry to see your mouse.

         4. Right-click on your mouse entry and then click Properties to open the mouse

              properties.

5.Switch to the Power Management tab. Check Allow this device to wake the

computer option and then click OK button

Restart your pc and check how it goes.

If issue persist you can perform repair upgrade this will re-install the Windows without affecting your files and apps. This will repair and replace any corrupted system files.

Step 1: Download Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

    Step 2: Run MediaCreationTool.exe.

Step 3: Choose "Upgrade this PC now".

Step 4: Select "Keep personal files and apps".

    Step 4: Let it install

I hope the information above helps, let me know how it goes.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    With Warm Regards,

    Carlo T.
