How do I change default e-mail client / e-mail address when sharing newspaper articles?

I am trying to transition the default e-mail client / e-mail address that I use to try to share articles with friends and family from various newspapers.  It seems that they all default to my hotmail address and client and don't seem to offer settings to change this within the newspaper pages' settings even after I change the default/preferred e-mail within my account settings for the papers.

Does anyone know of a setting edit I can make within Windows 10 settings to change the default address / client that I am using to share such messages?

When it works, what browser are you using? What domain appears as the sending domain? When it doesn't work and Windows 10 Mail opens, wjat is the sending domain?

When you click the link and it works, what does the link look like? What does it look like when Windows 10 Mail opens?

Thank you for your reply, Brian.  I was wondering if that might be the case.

Is there a setting in Windows 10 or way to keep any e-mail client from launching when I try to share an article from the papers?  I know within at least one paper (WSJ) I'm able to send a message that seems to launch from the browser and has the e-mail address I want to have it be sent from.  But in others (San Diego Union Tribune, Washington Post, NYTimes), the Outlook/Microsoft/Hotmail client (NOT the full Outlook program) automatically fires up and does not give me the option to overwrite the From: e-mail I'd like to be sharing the article from.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi. I'm Brian, an Independent Advisor.

What client do you have that you wish to make the default? If you access your mailbox using a web browser, you can't make it the default because a web browser is not an email client.
