Continuous Windows 10 BSOD with Kernel Security Check Failure

Hello Support,

My windows is Windows 10 Home (Build 18362.19h1_release.190318-1202) and I am recently facing this BSOD which mostly shows Kernel Security Check failure at random times. Recently it has become very severe. Almost 10 to 15 seconds after the boot. I checked the HDD with all the methods mentioned on youtube and MS Online support pages. But the HDD seems to be fine. I tried SFC /Scannow and it gives me following result:

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18363.1256]

(c) 2019 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.

Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

I tried the following commands to fix corrupt files and those failed with error and logs too.

C:\Windows\System32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:C:\ESD\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

I saw some others having same problem and you asked for these files:

  1. MiniDumps: https://we.tl/t-DwtowF3Z4u
  2. CSM Log: https://we.tl/t-MoycQIBfeh
  3. DISM Log: https://we.tl/t-ZIr52dg7l2

After trying almost everything I could find online nothing helped. Except some referring to my antivirus which is MalwareBytes is causing this. I don't know maybe it is because when I log into safemode the issue seems to go away (I am writing this on safemode with networking). When logged into windows normally it keeps giving me this BSOD and restarting. Please help!

Thank you for looking into my issue.

Best regards,

~ Mostafiz

    Hi Dave,

Sorry to inform you that the issue seems to have returned even after all that. So here's what I did according to their suggestions:

#1. Downloaded and Updated my Win10 to the latest release from from here: Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)  https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=799445

#2. Refreshed and installed latest MalwareBytes using their own tool (https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mbst).

after that last two days I was happy assuming that the issue is gone forever but only to find this morning that it's not as I turned my PC on and encountered another annoying BSOD (with same error stop code). I am uploading the minidump again here: https://we.tl/t-3Uc31uUSWB Feeling really helpless and frustrated now. Please help?

I also did a sfc /scannow and here is the result:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042.685]

    (c) 2020 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.

    Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    Hi Dave,

thanks a lot for your quick check and response! I already got the latest version installed (downloaded from malwareBytes) but this seems to be on going (the BSOD crash). I did uninstall it and the problem seems to be not happening (well as until now). But that leaves my windows unprotected. So I am checking malwareBytes forum to see what they have to say with this issue. Thanks a lot once again!

    Regards,

    Mostafiz

P.S.: Here is what I found which is similar to my issue from Malwarebytes support site. Hopefully it will help someone whos facing the same issue like myself.  [ RESOLVED ] Blue screen after updating Malwarebytes - Malwarebytes for Windows Support Forum - Malwarebytes Forums

    Hi Md

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Your research is correct, all your minidump files indicate a driver named Mwac.sys, which is a virtual driver associated to MalwareBytes as the cause of your system crashes and is known to do so . . .

Uninstall MalwareBytes and see if your system stabilizes, then if you want to continue using MalwareBytes, download and install the latest version from their website
