Hello, today i uninstalled Rage 2, which I played and installed using the Xbox Game Pass on my PC. I decided to uninstall it to make up some free space on my SSD, but after I uninstalled it using the "Add or remove programs" setting by Windows 10 no space was made up. BUT there's a file called "23C1EB0D-1A12-485D-9DAB-E90CE089AAA7" in the "D:\WindowsApps\MSIXVC" directory which is aprox. 44GB exactly like Rage 2. I can't delelete the file though, because it tells me the file is still open in system. Even after multiple reboots. And yes, I have given myself full control over the WindowsApps folder.

Can you share the list here so I can identify?

You can try to start Windows in safe mode and delete the file.

If you still can't do it, you can look at a topic similar to yours like this:

In this case, third-party software called Unlocker is used. The use of it should be done at your own risk, with caution and a lot of research.

I await a response from you if it worked!

Rebooting my PC into safemode and then deleting the file worked just fine! Thank you and have a nice day!

Thanks for the quick answer, but sadly there is not any process that relates to the Microsoft Store nor Windows Apps.

    Hello MarvinKlünenberg, how are you?

I am an independent consultant and user like you!

    I'm happy to help you!

    Well, do the following:

Press the 'Ctrl + Alt + Del' keys and open the task manager.

In the 'Processes' tab, try to identify if there is any process similar to 'Microsoft Store' or 'Windows Apps' or something related, close it and try to delete it!

If possible, share here the list of running processes, any of these processes that are preventing the file from being deleted!
