I restarted my laptop and when it powered back on and went through the boot screen I just got a black screen with a loading cursor. I looked all over YouTube and nothing helped

    Hi goth4ngel-

Thank you for keeping me posted and I do apologize it didn't work.

Just want to ask, aside from safe mode have you tried other options on your Recovery Environment?

Please try each option one at a time, then see of Windows will boot . . .

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Repair

See if Windows startup can repair itself

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore

Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back.

If you do not have a Restore Point, go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Reset this PC

Choose to keep your files and apps, just your files or to keep nothing

    Then start the Reset

Note: Kindly check first for all the disclaimers on your screen before continuing the process.

Please do let me know what will happen. Hope this will help and have a blessed day!

    Thanks.

    Kevin B.

    Hi goth4ngel -

I'm Kevin B. Independent Advisor and a Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

Are there any changes made on the computer before the issue started?

Kindly follow the steps below and check if it helps

    • Boot your computer in safemode

Safemode is a windows environment used to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair corrupted windows system files. While computer is in safemode, no 3rd party application will run, not even your anti-virus, and selected services needed by windows to boot are the only running service on the computer. This ensures us that the computer will only use applications and services at a minimal level to avoid 3rd party conflicting application and services.

Please click on the link below and follow the steps in booting your computer in safemode.

Once booted in safemode, click on the link below and follow the steps in fixing black screen issues with Windows 10

Troubleshooting black or blank screens in Windows 10

Troubleshoot black screen or blank screen errors

Restart the computer manually after following the steps and check if the same issue appears
