Random, Constant BSOD errors. Cannot find a cause.

Hello! I have a desktop that has been having some issues with constant blue screen errors. The codes are seemingly random, but a couple of them repeat more than others. This issue has been occurring for a couple months, but I could usually work around it by having a game run in the background while I browse, or just gaming would prevent the errors.

Recently my workaround no longer worked, and the motherboard, SSD, and memory were replaced by a service technician. Even after this repair, the issues persist.

There does not seem to be any trigger for the crashes. It has occurred during the initial windows setup after a clean install from a recovery USB, while computer idled at the log in screen, while idling at desktop, or while browsing internet. It also occurs while running Minecraft, which is the lowest load of a program I can think to run.

    Hi Dave,

    I noticed one of the dump files listed an AMD driver as the cause of the crash.

    Since the only AMD device that I know of in my system is the CPU, I did some research regarding this driver, and found a previous answer here on the Microsoft community site that suggested reducing the clock speed could help with this issue. I also remembered you previously mentioned that an XMP profile or other setting related to clock speed could have affected my device.

    I checked through the settings and changed the maximum processor speed from 100% to 85%. Since making this change, the machine has operated normally, without suffering a crash while browsing the internet or gaming.

    Since I am able to resume normal use of the machine, I am happy to use this workaround. However, if you can offer any insight as to why manually limiting clock speed prevents the driver related crashes, I would appreciate that. I also greatly appreciate the help you have given me in diagnosing the pc. I definitely would not have gotten it to work at all had you not given me the steps to verify everything.

    I will try this. I am not familiar with some computer terms. Can you clarify - are there any other names that 'XMP' may be referred to as, before I look for it? I know how to access the BIOS, but I want to make sure I find this setting the first time. Thank you!

    Hi Javelin501,

    Your minidump files just indicate memory (RAM) corruption no specific driver is listed

    All drivers and BIOS on your Lenovo Legion T5 26AMR5 seem to be up to date.

    Boot your system into BIOS, if there is an XMP profile set on your RAM, turn that off.

    Wait to see if your system stabilizes, if not, the best option is to download the widely available free utility MemTest86, then run a full 4 pass scan with that to test your RAM for physical errors

    I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

    Please check to see if your PC is producing any minidump files, I will check those to see if they provide any insight into a potential cause of the system crashes.

    Open Windows File Explorer.

    Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump

    Copy any minidump files onto your Desktop, then zip those up.

    Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox... etc.), then choose to share those and get a share link.

    Then post the link here to the zip file, so we can take a look for you.
