Storage Spaces with Boot Disk

I have a new laptop with a single SSD on a PCIe controller, Win 10 Pro. That SSD is my boot drive. Can I add a second SSD of exactly the same model and size and create a mirror without data loss?

It seems that a long time ago it was not possible but now might be different. I can't get solid answers. What is the latest?

No I do not want to clone my boot drive.

I want to create a RAID 1 drive with one of the SSDs being my boot drive. This will use Microsoft's Storage Spaces which is a utility to create software RAIDs. This is easy but the information about including a boot drive is lacking.

You didn't really answer my question. I just want to know if I can create a mirror on my boot drive with storage spaces. I know I can do it if I was using a 2nd and a 3rd drive and leave the boot drive alone but I only have two drive slots.

    Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45

Of course it has a 2nd NVMe slot

The next question is beyond the scope of my question. Boot drive in a mirror is supported or it isn't.

Again please read my question. The video does not address my question. I am well aware how to create a raid.

I am asking about BOOT DRIVE not two other drives. Any answer must include boot drive and storage spaces. Is that supported? Will booting still work or not?

With hardware raid windows does does not even know there are two drives during boot. I do not have hardware raid, I only have software raid ( MS Storage Spaces.

Since widows is not yet running during boot it may not work. My BIOS does not have a RAID setting but it may once I add the second ssd.

So. Storage Spaces raid with boot drive. Yes or no?
