Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
So recently I upgraded my HP pavilion g6 from HDD to SSD, converted it to 10Gb ram, and also installed fresh OS on SSD but since then my Bluetooth doesn't seem to work. When I try adding new devices it just keeps on scanning. it doesn't recognize my mobile phones or headphones. Even on my mobile phone, my PC name isn't visible(despite the discoverable setting being on). I did all the possible methods mentioned below
3.Even tried installing other Bluetooth drivers to check if it worked
4.Even ran the troubleshooter multiple times but didnt help
My Bluetooth drivers are up to date and windows is also up to date. What can be the problem with it? Is my Bluetooth card faulty but my wifi seems to work properly fine. I want to know if it's a software or hardware problem. So tired of trying the above methods so many times. Please Help
My Bluetooth driver- MediaTek Bluetooth adaptor
My PC- HP Pavilion g6 notebook pc 222TU
Windows- 10 home single language
Intel Core i3 3110M 2.40 GHz
RAM-10 GB
SSD-256 GB

Tried this too didn't work. Anyways thanks for your help. Appreciate it
Good Day HARSH_995,
I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, yes, you can use it due to Bluetooth compatibility issue with the drivers, your manufacturer only release Windows 8.1 driver. Try to use the old driver and check if it will work for you.
-Press Windows key + X
-Go to Device Manager
-Expand the Bluetooth
-Look for Bluetooth driver that was installed
-Right click and Uninstall
Once uninstalled, go to this link and try the driver for Windows 8.1
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64501-65000/sp...
Once downloaded and installed, restart your computer and check the Bluetooth.
If issue persists, you can reach out to your manufacturer which is HP and check if they have an alternative driver for your device.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Carlo T.

Thanks Carlo for the prompt reply. I got your point. So that means i won't be able to use bluetooth on my laptop ? Before installing Fresh OS I had unactivated windows 10 Pro and bluetooth worked fine in that. Is there any way i could work it out? Answering to your question I did fresh install of activated windows 10 home single language on 2nd July with digital license. before that i had windows 10 too and never had any such bluetooth issue. It would be very helpful if you could help me with some solution to use bluetooth on my laptop since I use that on daily basis.
Good Day HARSH_995,
My name is Carlo, I'm an Independent Advisor and community member like you.
I am also using Windows 10 pc.
When did you install Windows 10 in your computer?
I checked your manufacturers website and it appears that your device model is not supported in Windows 10 version.
Your manufacturer did not release a driver for Windows 10 , you are experiencing driver compatibility with the Bluetooth driver, that is why Bluetooth won't work in your device model.
Please see this link.

You can reach out HP if they provide an alternative Bluetooth driver compatible for your device model.
Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.
Sincerely,
Carlo T.
