Hello there, I tried many solutions on "How to fix computer does not go to sleep" but until when I stumbled upon one solution(Actually not a solution but kind of a system checking) and it spoke about whether a computer does support sleep or not. I tried one of them. See the picture below: So my computer turned out to not support sleep and my question is "Why would a computer not support sleep." my specs: processor: Intel Core I7 4790, graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GT 730

                                                                           [![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/08432bb2-80e5-4540-80f9-b35693fb6b5e?platform=QnA

    Hello,

Thank you for the support provided. Referring to the list of questions you have given:

    1. Were you able to use sleep mode earlier? No. because when I first booted up the computer, It didn't have that option.
    2. Are you aware of any changes made prior to this issue? I have thoroughly checked the setting and there are no changes made. Although I made changes since I was following some tutorials but I have reverted it. I formatted my computer anyways.
    3. What is the complete model number of the computer? Its a custom built PC, the number says "to be filled by O.E.M"
    4. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? windows 10 pro 21H1 2009

So, these are the answers to the questionnaire.

    Best Regards

    Hello,

Thank you very much for the quick response,

Now regarding to what your saying, as I bought the computer itself the sleep options weren't there and also my computer was freezing so much. So I formatted the computer deleting certain apps and its now fine. My version of windows currently is Windows 10 21H1. I installed it from the official Microsoft web. If you don't mind, I will send my specs privately to you. I may answer your questions privately too.

So as I said previously, I tried a lot of solutions and none of them worked though. So I hope I get to know a valid reason behind this. Thank you for your immense help.

    Best Regards

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in resolving the issue. I understand that you are unable to put the computer to sleep mode. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. Were you able to use sleep mode earlier?
    2. Are you aware of any changes made prior to this issue?
    3. What is the complete model number of the computer?
    4. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

I would suggest you to refer the suggestions by Prakhar_Khare Replied on July 16, 2020 in the thread Sleep mode not found in Windows 10 version 2004 and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
