High internet usage

Hi,

Hope everyone is doing well.

I have been dealing with an issue lately related to my network connection. Everytime I boot up my pc and connect to my network the bandwidth is full. Something is using up way too much internet and it is really irritating as I use a metered connection and as I'm typing this message my connection credits were all used up and reached to its limit. I have disable any windows related auto-update and set my downloads on ethernet only( I'm using wifi connection).

Would really appreciate if someone could help me pinpoint the problem because I can't work like this.

Thanks

    Hi Abtin,

    1

Thank you for that information, your second screenshot indicates that only 1% of your network capability is being used, the bandwidth does not look to be full.

    2

    Open the Settings App

Go to Update and Security- Delivery Optimization

Turn off Delivery Optimization and go into its advanced settings and make all values in there to their minimum.

Then you need to delete the updates that Delivery Optimization is uploading to the Internet.

    Open File Explorer

    Click on your hard drive

On the Manage Tab - Disk Tools, click Cleanup

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

    Start Disk Cleanup again

Let Disk Cleanup do its initial scan

Important - this time in the resulting dialog, click 'Cleanup System Files'

Let Disk Cleanup run another scan

Select Everything in the list and choose Delete

    Hi Dave,

    Thank you for replying.

    As for your questions :

    1. it is system
    2. Service Host: Network Service seems to be having the most usage.

P.s. : I am currently on my phone so I took a shot of my screen.Image

    Hi Abtin,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

    1

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Network and Internet - Data Usage

What app or service is indicated as using most of your Internet?

    2

Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc)

Select the Processes tab, then click the Network column header, so the arrow on that column points down

Please provide a screenshot of that processes tab.
