after saving the file i cant run again,why?

hi im started coding with c launguage.the problem is after saving the code and i click run it does not work some location.i copy the code and paste to new file and run it worked.but after saved and i run the code it not working,please help i dont whose problem.

Could you share me some detailed reproducible steps?

On my side, I tested with a newly created C++ Console project(not sure what’s your project type), I clicked Debug > Start Without Debugging and it worked, after that I added a new code line, then I press Ctrl + S and clicked Debug > Start Without Debugging again, the project worked too.

Currently, I will suggest you repair your Visual Studio from Visual Studio Installer > VS > More > Repair, if you are using VS 2017 or VS 2019.

first i opened visual studio code and click file>new file>and select language>c.and i typed this code

include <stdio.h>

int main(void){
printf("Hello World");
return 0;
}
and click the run code button and it shows "hello world" in terminal.

next i click on file>save> and name give "hello world" and it saved.
after i click on the run code button and it shows in terminal like this

o hello world } ; if ($?) { .\hello world }
gcc.exe: error: hello: No such file or directory
gcc.exe: error: world.c: No such file or directory
gcc.exe: error: world: No such file or directory
gcc.exe: fatal error: no input files
compilation terminated.
PS D:\applications data\c cpp viisual studio\SAVED WORKS>
im new in VSC.

Hi @sahil ,

Thank you for sharing me detailed information.

I noticed that you are using VS Code, actually, there are some differences between Visual Studio IDE and Visual Studio Code(two different products), please first try to rename the file and remove the space between hello and world to see if it works, for example

next click on file > save > and name give “helloworld”…

BTW, since VS Code is currently not supported on Microsoft Q&A forums, you can start a new thread and ask this question on Stack Overflow tagged Visual Studio Code.
