Hello! My laptop has an issue where some (or all) the apps are blacked out and I can not open them (as seen on the image). This thing has been going around for quite a while now and I want to get rid of it. I don't want to lose any data on my laptop while trying to get rid of this so I'm asking the community. If someone knows the answer I would appreciate it

Good day! I'm Raniel, an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you.

Just to clarify, did you make any changes to your machine before encountering this issue?

Kindly perform the methods below to troubleshoot the issue:

    Method 1

Double-check if your machine doesn't have any pending security patches: Kindly go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates.

If issues were encountered during the updates, perform a reset of your windows update components using this reset script. Please refer to this article (ensure that you are running the command prompt as an administrator): https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2015/12/reset-...

    Method 2

Press Windows+R on your keyboard and type "wsreset" > press Enter

then go to Windows > Settings > Apps > Apps and Features > search for "Microsoft Store" > click on Advanced options > scroll down and click on the "Reset" option.

Once done, perform a clean boot and see if you'll encounter the issue: https://support.microsoft.com/help/929135/how-t...

Launch the Microsoft Store app > go to See more (...) > Downloads and updates > click on "Get updates" to ensure that all MS Store apps are updated as well.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
