PC needs to be repaired.

Ok so the problem is "Registry system file is missing or contains error. Error code: 0xc0000225. File path: windows\system32\config\system" BSOD.

It started after I, without thinking, copied registry files from RegBack which I didn't know have 0KB. The reason is because someone gave an advice to copy files from RegBack to config folder from cmd to fix "You must enable system protection".

I also can't do system restore as mentioned above, "You must enable system protection". Even after I did "rstrui.exe /offline:C:\windows=active" the system restore result is 0x80070002 or something like that.

If possible maybe you can provide me the healthy "system" registry file that I can overwrite.

    Hi,

My name is Igor, I'm Independent Advisor. I have 12 Microsoft MVP awards. It's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.

I'm sorry but I have bad news for you. You cannot use registry files from another PC because they are hardware and software related.

Unfortunately in your situation you need to reinstall Windows. You may boot recovery environment and copy all your files to external (USB) drive.

And please make a useful habit always turn on system restoreright after Windows installation an regularly create backups

    No worries.

Can I instead have config files (windows\system32\config) and send it to MediaFire or OneDrive so I can overwrite the corrupt file?

    Hi, thanks for replying.

Nope, I can't boot to safemode from System Settings nor from cmd. I can't also do sfc because "Windows Resource Protection" nor DISM because you need to be online.

    Hi ApplePi33_0808 -

I'm Jerico T., one of the Independent Advisor and a fellow Windows 10 user like you. I understand that you're having some issues right now, let us sort things out.

Can you boot your computer to safemode? If yes, please boot your computer to safemode, click the link below for the steps.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/sta...

In safemode, perform the steps below.

Perform SFC Scan and Repair Windows Image

-This process will perform scan for any corrupted system files or integrity violation and will attempt to repair it along with the Windows Image.

    1. Open command prompt with administrator access
    2. Type each command below and wait until scan is completed.

    sfc /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Quick note: While the command is running, it's expected to see the process stuck at 20 or 40 percent. After a few minutes, the process will complete successfully.

Once you complete the steps, the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool will connect to the Windows Update servers to download and replace any damaged files in the local image for Windows 10 as necessary.

    1. Close the command prompt.

Please don't hesitate to reach back if the steps above did not work.

Hope this help. Have a good day.

    Thank you.

    Jerico T.
