How to Mimic Right Click Keyboard button functionality to Another Key on Keyboard

Hi All,

I do not have right click button on keyboard. Therefore looking for options to mimic its functionality to another key or combination of keys on keyboard.

I do not use mouse or touchpad. I am keyboard lover.

Right click from touchpad works differently as that does right click at mouse pointer location. I tried two finger method on touchpad as right click option but that selects item on mouse pointer location and show right click menu on that. So I am not using that method.

But I want to do right click on current selection (may be away from mouse pointer location) that I normally do with keyboard. I used to have right click button next to space bar on my old computer, and that is missing on new one.

Can you please suggest hotkeys setup process on Windows 10 or any other method?

Shift + F10 does not work for me.

In past I managed to mimic keyboard's right click button functionality using a front end automation tool (Macro Express) on another computer. Since I do not have a Macro Express license now, so I do not want to use this as an option and want to find an option within Windows 10.

Hi, my name is Neil, I'm an independent adviser and a Windows 10 user like you.

I'll be happy to try and answer your question.

Can I ask, do you have this key on your keyboard (see pic below)?

This is the right click key and will right click on selections too.

Let me know if you have. Almost all keyboards have this key, but I'm not sure if you do as you have said you do not have a right click button on your keyboard. So if it is this key you are referring to then this option is obviously not available to you. I had to check though.

Also, you say Shift + F10 does not work? Shift + F10 does EXACTLY the same thing as the Right Click button on a keyboard. You have said this does not work for you? Can I ask why this doesn't work? It should work since the actions are identical to the right click key.

If you can let me know that would be great, thanks.

    Kindest regards,

    Neil

    Hi Neil,

I do not have right click button on keyboard.

I checked further why Shift + F10 was not working for me. A software had that hotkey. I launched that software, changed its hotkey settings to something different than Shift + F10 within software, and closed the software window.

After that I tried using Shift + F10 on desktop and other applications, and it worked fine this time. Thank You Neil !!
