I am constantly getting this alert- even when I make the additional space, then it changes to a different amount. I am moving files from one folder to another- so I do not know why I need storage space to copy over?

    Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for the screenshot, everything on your drive is nominal size, with the exception of the Users folder, that is taking up 3/4 of your drive space.

So, you need to dig down into that folder with TreeSize to find where that space is being used, I cannot see the bottom of the TreeSize window, but I assume you have a 120GB SSD (118GB Writable space) and you need to clear at least 20GB of space from that drive.

SSD drives need to be minimum 1/5 free space ot be efficient and to prolong the lifespan of the drive.

Please dig down into that user folder in TreeSize. and let me know what you find.

    Hi Suzanne,

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this.

You mention making additional space, how much free space do you have on your drive, if that is down to MB (megabytes) then you need to clear a lot of space on your drive, no drive should be that full, Windows needs a lot of space on the drive for creating temp files... etc.

Click the link below to download a small free utility called Treesize.

    https://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/

To run TreeSize, right click its icon and choose Run as Administrator.

Please provide a screenshot of your C drive in that TreeSize utility, so I can see your hard drive and work out where that space is being used and if there is an underlying problem.
