How do I reinstall the "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter"?

My device is an HP Pavilion 15 laptop with an integrated Intel Iris Plus graphics card. In my device manager under display adapters I normally have 2, "Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics" and "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter". I don't know why, but while I was doing something I remember going to the device manager and uninstalling the second display adapter. I have done this before with the first adapter and then followed some tutorial and successfully got it back, but this time I have no idea what I did last time and how to fix it. Ever since I did this, some of my games have been having screen tearing and sometimes youtube videos start getting stuck on one picture while the sound is playing, resulting in me having to restart my computer to fix it. How could I get back the second display adapter? Also I already tried system restoring but I have no restore points before the accident. I also tried the method involving adding legacy software and that didn't work. Is there anything else I can do or will I have to reset my laptop and keep my files?

    Please try the following:

    • Type "device manager" and click it.
    • Click "Action" (upper menu)
    • Select "Scan for Hardware Changes"
    • After scan, check if the device appears
    • Right-click on it and select "Update drivers"

Try doing the same steps, but when you reach the "Action" menu click "Add legacy hardware" and click "next" and choose the options according to the device you want to add.

I would do that, but the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter isn't in the legacy hardware list.

In device manager the GPU should appear as "Microsoft basic display driver".

    • double-click that item
    • select tab details
    • select property: hardware ids
    • copy and paste the value here
