Ethernet Issues - Unidentified Network

Hi

I was plugged into my internet through my external network adapter and it seems to disconnect quite frequently as 'unidentified network'

I thought my network adapter broke so I bought a new one yesterday. It was working fine through yesterday and today. Suddenly it was disconnected and I get the same error again. Surely, the external adapter can't be broken again?

Is there a windows fix to this? I have searched online and done all the ip config reset etc...

    Hi,

no, it shouldn't be related to wi-fi, rather try updating the POLAR USB3.1 driver if you haven't done so yet. Otherwise, temporarily move the laptop close to the router and connect the POLAR USB3.1 directly to a LAN port of the router and see if the situation improves.

No, my laptop doesn't have an ethernet adapter so I need to use a USB to Ethernet Hub to connect.

The annoying thing is, I thought my Windows corrupted so I just did a factory reset. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the issue.

I am wondering if it's due to the cable issue of the ethernet socket but unlikely as it sometimes work/sometimes don't work. I am thinking its my laptop.....

    Hi,

why do you use the external network adapter, POLAR USB3.1? Does your laptop not have an ethernet interface? If there is a LAN port on the laptop, temporarily connect the PC directly to the ethernet socket on the wall and check if the connection remains stable.

    Hi Franco

I have already restarted my laptop and rebooted the router. The strange thing is, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It was working yesterday and now it suddenly not work.

I am using an external network adapter (POLAR USB3.1) and connecting via ethernet wall socket.

    Thanks!

    Hi SWONG# ,

if you haven't already, restart your computer and try again. Also reboot the router.

Specify whether it is a desktop PC or a laptop and the exact model of your network adapter. In addition, it specifies whether the computer is connected directly to the router or via the ethernet wall socket or via the Hub / Switch or other.
