Hello all,

My Windows 10 machine has started to reboot every 10-20 minutes, showing this error.

I found another thread advising to share minidump files, which can be found here:

https://astratelematics-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/p/phil/EtbyiA-n_X5IlRcOfjkT7JgBTizVDnk7NTlxUR3IPTo-Cw?e=whjyYA

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

So the BSOD error is caused by a software.

I'm glad that you are able to find the culprit.

Anyway, You can try to reinstall it again and see if it will still cause BSOD error. The program might not properly installed that's why it causes BSOD error. Reinstalling or updating the program might fixed the problem.

    Hi Paul,

    Thanks for the advice.

Seems that the issue has been resolved by removing AnyDesk software, which I installed a few days ago. I started removing recently installed apps, and since removing AnyDesk, its been a few hours without a BSOD, so I think thats the culprit. Shame, because its a useful app, be good to know why that went wrong.

    Thanks again.

    Phil

    Sorry for the delayed response.

The recent minidump file still indicates "ntkrnlmp.exe". Also, the recent BSOD error is not caused by the Driver Verifier. It is REFERENCE_BY_POINTER BSOD error, it should be "DRIVER VERIFIER DMA VIOLATION error" if it's from Drier Verifier.

Anyway, since we can't determine the specific cause of the BSOD error. I will first suggest that you perform a repair/in-place upgrade.

    Follow the instructions below.

    A. Downloading the Windows 10 ISO file.

    1. Download the tool (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209), and select Run. You need to be an administrator to run this tool.
    2. If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
    3. On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC and then select Next.
    4. Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. (Select the same as the currently installed system on your PC)
    5. In "Select which media you want to use", Select ISO file then click Next.
    6. Select the download location then click Save.
    7. Windows 10 ISO file will be downloaded,

    B. Repair Upgrade installation.

    1. Right-click Windows 10 ISO file and click Mount.
    2. Open/run the Setup.exe.
    3. The preparation starts
    4. To get important updates, select Download and install updates. (Wait while checking for updates).
    5. Accept the terms of the license agreement
    6. The installation is ready to be applied, verify the information and ensure that "Keep personal files and applications is checked".
    7. Click on Install to start the upgrade.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

    Hi Paul,

Many thanks for the advice. After running Verifier, and another BSOD, the minidump file is:

    Hi Phil,

I'm Paul, an Independent Advisor. I hope I can help you with your concern.

The minidump files didn't name any driver. It only indicated a system kernel driver "ntkrnlmp.exe". Since it's a system file it means something else drove it into a fault. It could be hardware, software, or driver.

I recommend that you run Driver Verifier to find any misbehaving, corrupted, or outdated driver.

Follow the instructions from this article.

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5470-enable...

    Reminders:

=> Disable Driver Verifier after 48 hours or after receiving a BSOD.

=> Create a Restore Point before running Driver Verifier.

Share the minidump file once you receive a BSOD error.
