Hello everyone, I am in trouble! i am unable to create a folder from context menu on anywhere. Please make me solve this issue so that i can create folders as it is really important for me. I have recently installed office 2019 official from the Microsoft website with activation key. But when i restarted my pc and i need to create a folder for saving my word document i found that a shortcut is created and the shortcut creation pop up window appears asking for which file you want to create the shortcut for.

I have shared the video with you please solve my issue.

Things which i performed to fix this error are as follows:

  1. I have checked the registry path: "Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\Background\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\New" and created a new key with this value {D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719}
  2. I have run the file and folder fix troubleshooter using this application: https://download.microsoft.com/download/F/5/E/F5E25FFA-D1AE-4B53-9114-C754FB306FC3/winfilefolder.DiagCab.
  3. I have used the file registry fix from this link https: Add or Remove Default New Context Menu Items in Windows 10 | Tutorials (tenforums.com)
  4. sfc /scannow ← I have run this command for scanning the errors and issues using powershell.
  5. I have reinstalled the office and restarted the pc.
  6. I have disable the controlled folder access from the windows security.

After performing all these activities then also i am unable to fix this error. Please help me regarding this.

I have created a new folder and it is asking for create shortcut and when i click on cancel it is removed.

All the things in the context menu is perfect. See below:

    Hello SanskarSuman,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Windows like you. I'll be happy to assist you today. When was the last time it worked properly? What is your current Windows version and edition? Press Start then click Settings(Gear icon), select System then About.

    Kindly try the method below.

**Click Start then search Registry Editor

    Navigate to the following path

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder

In the right-pane, double-click (default) and set its data to Folder

    Exit the Registry Editor.

    Restart your computer

If this does not work, Please download and run again the Restore_New_Folder_context_menu_item.reg, which reset the restored context menu item to create folders.

**Please try creating a new local administrator account then check if the issue still persists.
