help with adding a hp laptop

I need to add a hp laptop to my microsoft account. I am not sure where the serial number is. The laptop needs the password reset but unable to reset it until I can add it to my microsoft account. Please help

    You must be able to login to a computer in order to add it to your account, that's the only way to add it (by logging into the computer). And do note that adding it to your Microsoft account won't allow you to reset the password anyway.
