Certain folder in File Explorer keeps refreshing upon opening

I have a particular folder in my PC that I open frequently, which contains 20GB of large-sized DSLR photographs. Every time I open the folder, the photos are sorted to a default arrangement before taking a few seconds to refresh and revert back to the sorting arrangement I had previously selected (by date taken). This does not happen to any other folders which load instantly. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Hello, I'm afraid that's because there are many large files in this directory. Your computer needs a period of time to sort them. In fact, the same thing is happening in other directories, but the process is so fast that you can't obviously feel it.

    Trying to increase your virtual memory may work to some extent.
