Does "Pausing Windows Update" cause Windows Defender Definition Update to stop?

If I "Pause Windows Update for 7 days" or "Pause it for up to 35 days", would Windows Defender Definition Update also pause?

What if I want to keep Windows Defender Definition Update, while pause regular (Quality Updates and others update)?

    Sometimes, pausing for several days is not unreasonable if I'm in the middle of some very important work.

    (I never suggested that I would do this on regular basis or long term basis.)

    And this pausing feature is fully supported by Microsoft (Windows 10).

    I simply wanted to know if Pausing would also pause Defender Definition Update.  I just want to understand, so I know what to expect.

    I seem to be getting conflicting answer here.

    You said "It would pause definition update"

    Another replied "no it won't pause definition update"

    So I'm now confused.

    I appreciate your time getting back to this thread, by default if you paused the updates, all the updates will be paused , including the Definition updates. Feel free to Paused the updates and install them on your most convenient time.

    I am also using Windows 10 pc.

    If you Paused the updates all of the updates will be paused as well. If may I ask why you want to Paused the regular update? I highly suggest to install them to keep your device up to date and secured.

    There is tool to hide updates, if you wish not to install a specific updates, you can visit this link as reference.

    And if you wish to install them, you can use the tool again to Show the updates and install them.
