Yesterday I inserted my USB modem and started the Modem software and boom! A BSOD appeared showing KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDELED (mtkmbim7 x64.sys). After that my PC rebooted normally but now whenever I start the software with modem inserted it gives me same error (but not in win 7). I even uninstalled the software and reinstalled it but the BSOD isn't fixed. It was working fine before yesterday but I don't know how this happened. I also tried "SFC/scannow" but nothing happened. Please help me!

Evidently the driver does not work.

Try to go to the device manager and uninstall the device. Then reboot the pc and see if it makes any difference. If it does not then the driver is broken for your current update state.

Windows components change during updates, drivers need to change with them. If the manufacturer did not update his driver then after a Windows update the driver might not work anymore. Consult the manufactuer about the problem and provide feedback to him that the device does not work so the manufacturer can fix his driver.

    Hello Ash1302,

thank you for providing this question.

I am an independent advisor and user like you and hope to resolve your problems quickly.

Check the modem manufacturer page to see if there is an up to date driver for the device and if it is still supported under Windows 10.

If there is still support and no up to date driver then give feedback to the device manufacturer to please fix their driver.

If there is no more support for Windows 10 for this device then you will need to by a new USB modem stick.

If this didn't solve your problem or you need further assistance please answer in this thread and i would be happy to help.

    kind regards

    F. Grobusch
