I have a new PC and on it my windows time and timezone settings are always changing to Canada, despite me being in germany. BIOS seems to be showing the correct time and I manually changed the time to the right one, but the incorrect time zone is causing a lot of troubles. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi RishiRSharma,

Thank you for the reply. When launching Windows Powershell, did you pick to run it as admin? It should allow you to execute the command when Powershell is ran as an admin.

  1. Press Windows key + X
  2. Press A (This will launch Windows Powershell in Admin mode)
  3. Then execute the commands I gave you.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi RishiRSharma,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. First thing to check is how your Region is set on your computer. Here's how to check:

    1. Press Windows key + I
    2. Go to Time and Language
    3. Click Region
    4. Make sure it is set to Germany.

If the region setting is correct, execute this command to set your time zone:

    1. Open an Windows Powershell Admin console (Windows key +X then press A).
    2. Enter tzutil /l to list time zone choices.

Copy the the one you want to the clipboard and paste it in quotes after tzutil /s, example:

    tzutil /s "Pacific Standard Time"

    1. Reboot to make sure the time zone set remains.

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!
