Local Disk issue

Hello, I'd been gaming (League of Legends)lately. When I tried to connect with the servers today, there were issues so I restarted PC. It took a lot of time to restart and it said "scanning and repairing drive D: complete 100℅" and ever since then, the PC has been hanging a lot, even in safe mode. I cannot run chkdsk, there isn't any access to D, I can barely even check properties of Local Disk D after long periods of wait. Disk Management doesn't connect with Virtual Disk Service at all, it shows a blank.

    Start Windows in safe mode and see if the same behavior will occur.

    Run Windows Memory Diagnostic to test your RAM.

    In Task Manager, sort the column "Disk" and see the process causing the high disk usage.

    As for Disk Management displaying the message "connecting to Virtual Disk Service". Make sure the "Virtual Disk" service startup is set to "Manual".

    1. Press "Windows + R", type services.msc and click Ok;
    2. Look for "Virtual Disk" and double click;
    3. Leave the "Startup type" as "Manual" and click Ok.

    See if Disk Management will work.

    The disk usage is at 100℅ in task manager, so every action takes a lot of time, connecting with internet and downloading files seems very hard.

    I'm actually on a laptop, so I don't know if there is a connection issue. I tried doing the second step, but as soon as I run the code, nothing shows up on disk management, it just shows "connecting to Virtual Disk Service".

    Hi DualPetalSage,

    I'm David, an Independent Advisor, here to help you.

    I suggest you do the recommended procedures in the article below.

    https://appuals.com/fix-disk-check-not-performe...

    If the procedures don't help, check the "health" of the disk using Crystal Disk Info.

    https://crystalmark.info/en/download/

    Download the "Standard Edition" by clicking on the "ZIP (XP-)" button.

    Extract the ZIP and run the file "DiskInfo64.exe".

    The health result of your disk will be displayed. See if there are any alerts.

    I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions.
