Is it normal that I download an installer from the web then I run it, the defender says the admin request the file to be scanned? Even I don't initiate a scan.

    Hi Carlo,

The files I downloaded have been scanned automatically. As you mentioned earlier, do I have an option not to scan it? Is it a setting?

    Good Day Aidzer,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

Yes it is normal to make sure that the file or apps you downloaded is safe and free from any malware or threats. if you think that the file is safe then it fine if you are not going to scan it.

I hope the information above helps.

Have a wonderful day ahead and stay safe.

    Sincerely,

    Carlo T.
