Storage Services causing Windows Explorer crash/flickering on login

My computer flickers and is unusable for about 15 minutes after initial login.

I went through msconfig and disabled all the services until I determined which one was causing it. The service that was causing it was Storage Services.

It seemed to have started after an update a while ago. It happened on both my desktop and my laptop but seems to have stopped happening with my laptop.

Another option that you can try is to perform the repair upgrade using the Media Creation Tool, this procedure will repair all Windows files and services.

SFC and DISM didn't find anything.

I am using 21H1 and the issue still persists.

Hi, I'm Robinson, and I’m happy to help you today.

I know how frustrating this may be for you but I'll do my very best to help you.

Here is some troubleshooting that you can try and should fix this problem.

Which version of Windows you are using?

    1-Press Windows+r

2-type winver then click on OK

If you are using a version earlier than 21H1, update the Windows for the latest version 21H1, you can download the update assistant on this link.

Check if doesn't have any corrupt files on the windows.

1-Right-Click on Start then click on Windows Powershell (admin)

    2- Type these commands.

    sfc /scannow (and press Enter)

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth (and press Enter)

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth (and press Enter)

3- The DISM tool will report whether the image is healthy, repairable, or non-repairable. If the image is repairable, you can use the /RestoreHealth (Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth) argument to repair the image.
