re: PC computer – screen minimization problem

I have a HP Pavillion 15, 64 bit PC computer. I use Windows 10.

I have a problem with the viewing of all the information that I open on the computer.

All items that I open – such as URLs/media programs/document files/File Explorer - will not stay open but instead while viewing or entering data on the particular open item, it will automatically minimize itself to the lower toolbar – the item can easily be reopened from the toolbar but will generally, in a short time, repeat the same minimization back to the lower toolbar.

Any suggestions about how to rectify this problem.

Yours sincerely,

William

    Reza Ameri,

    re: PC computer – screen minimization problem

    Hello, I refer to your e-mail that is shown as received by me on Friday 5 November 2021.

    You advised that I should open up ‘Command prompt’ & ‘run it as administrator’, and type the following command, ‘sfc/scannow’.

    I thank you for your advice, I think I have followed you correctly, but I didn’t want to take the last step unless okay.

    So this is what has happened;

          i.)            After ‘Command prompt’ and ‘run as administrator’

    I get:

         ii.)            A black full screen with the heading ‘Command Prompt’, and within the body of the screen, the words ‘C:\Users\William>’

    My question is, I presume that I should type ‘sfc/scannow’ immediately following ‘C:\Users\William>’ on that screen [ie C:\Users\William> sfc/scannow ] and then press enter to let it run.

    Thanking you in advance,

    William

    Thank you for the reply.

    Does it happen in a specific condition like after a specific time or when you open a specific application?

    Try open start and search for cmd or Command prompt and right click on it and run as administrator and then type the following command:

    sfc /scannow

    Press enter and let it runs.

    Reza Ameri,

    Thank you for your prompt reply.

    Regarding your questions, here is my answer;

    i] I don't type quickly - mainly one finger, and it happens even when not working on the document, it happens on videos, and on an open internet page

    ii] I have never used WinKey + M - I just tried it with an open Word document, and nothing happened.

    I use a Dell mouse via USB link, connected [I think/imagine] to my Logitech Setpoint 6.6.83 app [showing as installed 12/12/2020].

    Other than a program error around minimization, the only common thing that happens is I use the mouse for all functions [other than using the keyboard] in all those minimizing screens.

    Any further suggestions?

    Thank you again,

    William

    Since when you observe this behavior?

    Are you typing fast?

    Pressing WinKey+M would minimize the Window and you might accidently press it when you are typing fast.

    Check and see if that is the case.
