Hi chuckcreswell
I am Dave, I will help you with this.
Can you please provide a screenshot of the dialog boxes you are referring to, so I can understand the problem in context and provide you with a solution.

I noticed that after some Windows 10 update that when I open a dialog box and then select another dialog from that box the original box stays open. This can lead to a string of open dialog boxes. When finished with my search, I then have to close each box individually. This is a nuisance. I want to only have the last selection showing. How can this be done?

Hi chuckcreswell
At the top of File Explorer, click the 3 dots and choose Options
On the resulting dialog, is File Explorer set to open folders in a new window, if so, turn off, set it to open in the same window.

Hi Dave, Thank You. Please note in the screenshot the left dialog has selected a folder called KCP. The right dialog is the selected KCP folder. I really only want to see the right (or last selected folder). I want the left folder to disappear when the right folder appears. The reason is that I have to close both when finished. I am using Windows 11 in this example.
