Time to switch to Linux. I've got a Surface Pro (7th gen i5) on its way in the mail right now and just found out that I won't be able to upgrade because of one instruction set that the 7th gen doesn't have that 8th and up do have. This is complete bs and I'll be scrubbing windows off my Surface Pro 5 and going for a Debian or Fedora Linux build the day it gets here. Heck, it'll even run faster since it won't have the extra 50lbs of bloat that Microsoft can't seem to keep off their OS builds. Open source software for the win. Sayonara Windows, you ultra proprietary POS.
Windows 11 support for Intel Core i5-7300U CPU @ 2.60GHz
I have a Surface Pro, 3 years old. The Windows 11 Health Check says I am unable to run Windows 11 as the processor is not supported. I currently run Windows 10 Pro 21H1. In looking at the supported processor list provided, it does show i5-7300U as a supported processor for Win 10 21H1.
Has anyone else had this message for Windows 11? Is this accurate?
Thank you.

2022-01-25T22:09:00+00:00 Pretty sad, we have PC's that can run circles around some of the "acceptable CPU's". Good to know they kept their word when they said Windows 10 is the last version of windows there will be :/
