health check says the processor is not currently supported. However it meets all requirements for windows 11

Device name Dell
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-5500U CPU @ 2.40GHz 2.39 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB
Device ID BF7F50C7-5C06-4718-B978-C98AD85E40C2
Product ID 00330-80000-00000-AA438
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Touch support with 10 touch points

Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H1
Installed on ‎08/‎09/‎2020
OS build 19043.1288
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0

The laptop passes all the checks but says the processor is not supported I checked the list of supported processors for version 21H1 and the i7-5500U is listed as an approved processor

Any idea what the issue could be.

    Hello bondi699,

Good day! I'm John and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

The minimum system requirements for Windows 11 is at least 8th Gen processors (except for very few 7th Gen processors). This is to meet Microsoft principles about security and reliability.

I'm sorry, i7-5500U is not on the list of Windows 11 supported Intel processors.

There has been no new announcement from Microsoft yet if they plan to add more processors to the list. I recommend reaching out to your Original Equipment Manufacturer as they will be able to provide you with information regarding any options you may have for upgrading your device's current processor.

You may need to consider using Windows 10 as it continues to be a great version of Windows. Microsoft is committed to supporting Windows 10 through October 14, 2025.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,

    John DeV

Unfortunately that CPU does not have Intel's Platform Trust capability which is frustrating broadview and skylake are all out of the running
