managing drivers for Dell with SCCM

Hello

I'm probably getting a little lost in managing drivers for Dell. I use Third party software update and SCUP. I imported catalogs into SCCM and SCUP. I have to manually approve the individual packages in SCUP so that they are green in SCCM and I can deploy them.

What bothers me is:

1, Can I just run all the drivers on all Dell devices and the individual devices determine for themselves what they need?
2, Why do I see the same driver in SCUP with the same article ID, version and name, but with a different date?
3, What is the difference between Intel Management Engine Components Installer, 2036.15.0.1835, A08 and Intel Management Engine Components Installer, 2110.15.0.2210, A10?

    Hi Tomas,

    1) Yes, the individual devices will recognize which drivers they require if we run all the drivers together on all the devices.
Because Windows installs drivers using INF files and uses hardware ID to match a device to an INF file.

    2) The Date Modified is written by the publisher in the catalog, so that is established when we uploaded the catalog. We could view the information in the catalog. The Date Modified mostly to help determine the newest patch available.
Does this affect your update? If not, this is not to worry.

    3) And for the last question, maybe we can refer to the following two links from DELLTechnologles, they explain the Fixes & Enhancements of these two versions of Intel Management Engine Components Installer:
    Version 2036.15.0.1835, A08: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-sg/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=fc5j4
    Version 2110.15.0.2210, A10: https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-sg/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=56yhm
Note: This is not from MS, just for your reference.
For more details, it is better to contact the DELL support, as they may know more about this and can provide more help.

    Hi HanyunZhu,

    Thank you for your answer.
I'll have some more questions, but I don't want to expand this thread too much. I will write a new thread.
    Tomas
