Hi All,

I have a customer with a Mac Book that need RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) access to a Windows 10 Pro machine at her office. The Microsoft RDP Client for Mac works very well, but it requires that the server have FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) enabled on the server. (Editorial comment: this should be configurable on the client but is not.)

Problem: FIPS crashes QuickBooks on the server:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/install/qb2020-pro-crashes-when-fips-mode-is-turned-on/00/616140

"Unfortunately, the solution was to disable FIPS mode"

On my own office computer running Fedora 33, I run xfreerdp, which runs marvelously: FIPS or no FIPS. But xfreerdp looks like a nightmare to install on Mac OS:

Do you guys have a recommendation for a nice RDP client that does not require FIPS to be enabled on the server?

Many thanks,
-T

I updated to 10.6.7-1891_Beta and that fixed the FIPS issue.

    HI ToddChester-3826,

If we install the leatest Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta for macOS Version 10.6.7 (1891) on customer Mac book, will the same issue happen?

If the problem persist, I think we can try to contact anydesk support and check if FIPS need to be enabled on remote server for their remote app product.
