So a months ago we bought a wireless wifi, we used and it went fine, but a couple days later my wifi gets really wierd, it gets "spikes" if you know what i mean. Basically it would go to 8kbps (when normally it should be 3-5 mpbs) to 0kbps on repeat. Does anyone know how to fix it, i've tried everything i could: i restarted my PC, restarted my router, turn off all other devices that was using the wifi, moved the position of my router, checked the bandwidth, even bought a new router, I had no idea had was going on and what i did. Can anyone help me please?

Who is your Internet Service Provider and what type of Modem/Router do you have? What plan do you have as far as speed goes? I have Spectrum with up to 400 Mbps download speed.

What type of adapter do you have on the computer you are using and what speed is it capable of? Is it 802.11n, 802.11ac, 802.11ax etc.?

    Good Day John,

My name is Carlo, I am also using Windows 10 pc and community member like you. Let us work together to sort this out.

When you say you bought a wireless wifi , is that a dongle or wifi adapter? If yes, what is the model of that device?

    -Press Windows key + X

    -Go to Device Manager

    -Expand the Network Adapters

-Look for the Wireless driver that was installed

    -Right click and Update

-Look for "Browse my computer for driver

-Let me pick drivers available drivers

-Choose an old driver and use it.

    Reset Network Settings

    Open Settings.

    Click on Network & Internet.

    Click on Status.

Under the "Change your network settings" section, click the Network reset option.

    Click the Reset now button.

    Click the Yes button.

-Click Start, type CMD and run as administrator

-Copy and paste each of the commands below and hit enter.

    netsh int ip reset

    netsh advfirewall reset

Once you entered all those commands restart your computer and check the connection speed using the speedtest.
