Bluetooth missing from Device Manager

I'm not entirely sure what happened but I left my PC on a Windows Defender Full Scan before I went away for 15minutes. My PC was shut down when I was back and after turning it on, the Bluetooth icon disappeared and I couldn't find it in device manager (unless I click "show hidden devices" but it still doesn't work even after restarting). I've tried to troubleshoot by looking at past posts and replies by others and watching 3-4 youtube videos but they don't seem to work(assuming I'm doing it correctly).
I've tried:
-restarting Bluetooth Support Service under "Services" App
-going into BIOS and manually turning off Bluetooth controller, apply+exit, go back into BIOS again, and manually turn on Bluetooth controller, apply+exit, and restart
-going to Device Manager, "Add Legacy Hardware" -> "Next" -> "Install a hardware that I manually select from a list" -> "Network Adapters" ->
(A) "Microsoft"-> "Generic Mobile Broadband Adaptor" -> "Next" [it takes particularly long and after it's done, it says "The software is not installed but may not work correctly. The device cannot start. (Code 10)"] (screenshot attached below)(B) "Intel Corporation" -> "Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz" -> "Next"

  • going to intel's website to download the Bluetooth driver

Edit: added screenshot of Event Viewer, the Kernel-Power Critical failure coincided with the time of the event. It's task category is "(63)", not sure how it'll help but indicates that it was an unexpected shutdown.

I'm afraid that this might be hardware damage although the PC is only 3months old. I'm using an ASUS TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS (WI-FI), Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.19043 on x64-based PC, CPU is AMD Ryzen R5 5600X OC(Asus optimal settings) to 4.2GHz, GPU is Galax RTX 3060 Ti, 2x8 GB 3600MHz.

    Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

    It sounds like the bluetooth icon missing from Device Manager after an unexpected shutting down of your PC. As what shown on the summary from Event Viewer, it's a Kernel-Power 63 error. Is a blue screen of death occured or any blue screen log file could be found under path C:\Windows\Minidump? If so, please share it to me by the Private Message for our futher analysis.

    Meanwhile, you may take the following methods to troubleshoot:

    1. Press Windows key + I to open Settings > Select Updates & Securities > Check and update your Windows to the latest version.
    2. Open Control Panel > Select Power Options > Define power buttons > Change settings that are currently unavailable > Uncheck Turn on fast startup > Click Save changes.
    3. Reinstall your graphics driver.
    4. Use CHKDSK to scan to find problems and repair your PC:

    Press Windows + R > Type: cmd > click OK to open the Command Prompt > Enter: chkdsk c:/f > Press Enter to run the command to check and repair Disk C:. (c: is the disk name)

    Thanks for your update. Using some additional switches with check disk may help in getting the issue resolved.

    Perform the steps mentioned below and see if the error message disappears.

    Press Windows key + X > Click Command prompt(Admin) > type: chkdsk C: /f /r /x > Hit Enter.

    Disclaimer: Running chkdsk can check the file system and file system metadata of a volume for logical and physical errors. To avoid any trouble for you, please follow them step-by step ,do not cancel or interrupt chkdsk, and back up important data.

    Hi Lynn,

    A BSOD did not occur but it was shut down when I came back. BSOD did not occur when I restarted either. Let me know if you still require the C:\Windows\Minidump.

    1. Latest version of windows 10 w optional updates installed too.
    2. Already did that troubleshooting before posting this thread but looks like it didn't work.
    3. Working on it!
    4. I got the following reply from cmd, and not sure how to go about it.
      "The type of the file system is NTFS.

    Cannot lock current drive.

    Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another

    process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be

    checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)"
