Hello, I haven't been able to access my documents folder, and will get a response that it is corrupted and unreadable.

I've run DISM and the System File Checker, none report any corrupted files or repairs.

Hi stjOHrk

Click the Power Button on your Start Menu

Press the Shift Key and click Restart

Your PC will boot into the Windows Recovery Environment

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Options - Command Prompt

Run tis command and press Enter;

chkdsk C: /f /r

Wait for that command to complete, then restart your PC and check if you can access that Documents folder.

I am just pressing the documents folder. Other programs are also unable to access the folder, as save files located in the folder are no longer accessible.

    Hi stjOHrk

Thank you for the screenshots, the registry is set correctly

What are you doing when you get that error, are you just clicking on the Documents folder in the left pane of File Explorer, or are you inside an application trying t open or save a file?

    H stjOHrk

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    1

Where is the documents folder located, is that in its original location or did you move that yourself to another location?

    2

Please provide a screenshot of the error dialog you see when you try to access the Documents folder.

    3

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Please provide a screenshot of that Registry Editor page.
