Windows 10

latest update

I have a shared folder that is no longer working. All network and folder sharing options are correct as I've looked at it for the zillionith time. I've deleted the share and reconnected with no luck.

The question - when in the sharing options - security - is Administrators supposed to be listed as a Principal? I have the Everyone account with total control. I noticed that the Administrators object was not listed.

Note this was working for years. Thinking of uninstalling he latest update and then possibly restoreing to a restore point.

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Darryl

    Hi Darryl,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues in connecting to shared folders. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

    However, please let us know:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made to the computer prior to this issue?
    2. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? Refer Which version of Windows operating system am I running?

I would suggest you to refer the section **How do I troubleshoot sharing files and folders?**mentioned in the article File sharing over a network in Windows 10 and see if that helps.

You may also refer the suggestions provided by Roohi_Taj replied on November 28, 2018 in the thread You do not have permission to access \PC_NAME contact your network administrator to request access.

Let us know how it goes.
