Hi,

So I having this problem for ages. My laptop only says “Plugged-in” I do not know what it means and my battery drains. Recently, I went to Curry’s PC World UK to get the pin of my DC Port ,which was apparently broken, to get fixed. Today, I had got it back and I still get this after hovering over the battery icon. What is the reason to this? Is it a software or physical problem?

    Hi Vigash— -

Thanks for the response and I do apologize on the delayed on mine.

Did you perform the steps provided?

As for the question, performing a series of steps will eventually determine if the issue is within the Operating system or if the issue lies within the battery itself. If the issue is with windows, then performing the repairs should fix the issue.

    Hi Vigash— -

I'm Kevin B., I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

Does this only happen when you plugged in your laptop using its charger?

Kindly run the Power troubleshooter to identify the issue and the tool will attempt to fix it.

    Press windows key + I

    Click on Updates and Security

On the left pane menu, click on Troubleshoot

    Click on Additional troubleshooter

    Locate and click on Power

    Click Run the troubleshooter

Follow the onscreen instruction until the process completes

Restart the computer if needed and check if the same issue appears

You may also run a system file checker to verify the integrity of windows system files on your computer making sure that there are no corrupted files on your windows.

Perform SFC Scan and Repair Windows Image

-This process will perform scan for any corrupted system files or integrity violation and will attempt to repair it along with the Windows Image.

    1. Open command prompt with administrator access
    2. Type each command below and wait until scan is completed.

    SFC /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Quick note: While the command is running, it's expected to see the process stuck at 20 or 40 percent. After a few minutes, the process will complete successfully.

Once you complete the steps, the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool will connect to the Windows Update servers to download and replace any damaged files in the local image for Windows 10 as necessary.

    1. Close the command prompt.

Restart the computer again and check if the same issue appears

Hope this will help and have a bless day!

    Thanks.

    Kevin B.
