Recently I cannot open my settings app for any reason. Even launching it seems impossible. I tried accessing it within the right-click personalize button but I received...

I tried every method on the internet and its not working. I'm starting to panic.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hello Khai,

No worries. When was the last time it worked properly?

Please try uninstalling the recent November KB5007186 update if it helps.

Press Start then click Settings(Gear icon)

Select Update and Security > View update history

    Click Uninstall Updates

Under Microsoft Windows, select KB5007186 in the list then Click Uninstall

Wait for the update to uninstall

    Restart your computer

If this fixes the issue, I recommend using the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the problematic update. Windows Update won’t install hidden updates. Run the troubleshooter then please try to hide the said update that will show in the list. You may try restarting your pc if it helps.

Unfortunately, the official download link for "Show or Hide Updates" troubleshooter has been broken or removed. You can safely download the "Show or Hide Updates Troubleshooter" in this alternative link.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

I understand that you are trying to help me, but this takes up A LOT of space in my C: drive.

Could there be an alternative solution?

    Sorry if I sound stupid.

    Hello Khai,

Thank you for updating me with that information. Have you tried restarting your computer then check if the issue persists?

Please try performing an In-place Upgrade. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while your personal files, settings and installed applications will not be removed.

Download the media creation tool(Click Download tool now) and save it to your computer.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo...

Open the tool and select Upgrade this PC now.

Make sure to select Keep personal files and apps.

It might take some time to install Windows 10. Your computer will restart a few times, Make sure you don’t turn off your PC

    Kind regards,
