BSOD With Random Codes - Windows 10

Hi, I have a problem with multiple Bsod since last few days. Everytime the Bsod code is different and it looks like the problem I had a year ago: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/can-not-boot-the-windows-10/4fb4f2fd-f683-4b41-a238-8ac38c42c285

Previous year it turns out to be corrupted memory after checking the rams with both built-in memory checker and the memtest. I have bought new set of rams and re-installed the windows with keep my files option and the problem seem to be solved.

This time I checked with memtest 2 times and first run ended with 0 error while the second run found 1956 errors in Test 10. I did not tried driver verifier yet.

I have uploaded the last 5 minidumps from last 2 days: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NCh2261tdfkKgsJ5wD1IWOiyxGCcxgvi/view?usp=sharing

I did not have time to do any changes yet but had another Bsod while I was afk and only a browser (firefox) was open with few tabs. Minidump related to the this bsod: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XUdUA1wJy8BzwlvatpwfYcyA_Af2xCO8/view?usp=sharing

I will soon start with Bios updates.

You need to fully uninstall Kaspersky as it is still loading pieces of itself and is involved at some level in the crash. Disabling it is not enough.

Samsung Magician is still involved and you need to uninstall it while testing.

Remember sticks that pass individually can still have tiny timing differences or the motherboard can have issues when the sticks are in pairs or even in different combinations. Added that even memtest does not detect all possible errors.

Try to keep a more open mind while troubleshooting. Instead of thinking "I can rule that out" which is hardly ever really true, think "that seems less likely now however I will keep it in mind".

Please use all the methods I posted as I have done many many thousands of these.

    Rob

    Thanks for the answer Rob.

For Kaspersky after the first few Bsod I disabled the protection.

For Samsung Magician I have updated it at the same time, after few Bsod.

I just had time to run memtest for each stick (1x8gb) 1 time instead of dual (2x8gb). Both stick returned 0 errors.

I will try the Bios update soon.

    More troubleshooting methods:

This utility makes it easy to see which device driver versions are loaded :

Run DriverView - set VIEW to Hide Microsoft drivers - update those without Dump in their names (and update BIOS and chipset drivers).

DriverView - Free - utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver, and more.

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/driverview.html

For Drivers check System Maker as fallbacks and Device Maker's which are the most current. Right Click the Start Button - Device Manager - Display Adapter - write down the make and complete model of your video adapter - double click - Driver's tab - write down the version info. Now click Update Driver (this may not do anything as MS is far behind certifying drivers) - then Right Click - Uninstall - REBOOT this will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat that for Network - Network Card (NIC), Wifi, Sound, Mouse, and Keyboard if 3rd party with their own software and drivers and any other major device drivers you have.

Now go to System Maker's site (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (as rollback) and then Device Maker's site (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI as examples) and get their latest versions. (Look for BIOS, Chipset, and software updates at System Maker's site while there.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - Right Click - RUN AD ADMIN -

    REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in Device Manager - Drivers tab to be sure the version you are installing actually shows up. This is because some drivers roll back before the latest is installed (sound drivers particularly do this) so install a driver - reboot - check to be sure it is installed and repeat as needed.

Repeat at Device Makers - BTW at Device Makers DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER - check manually by model.

Manually look at manufacturer's sites for drivers - and Device Maker's sites.

Memory tests do not catch all errors such as mismatched memory (possible even for sticks that appear to be identical) and when faster memory is placed in the system behind slower memory. So it is best to also swap sticks in and out to check for those even if all memory tests fail to show a problem.

To test RAM check here - let it run 4+ hours or so - overnight is best. <-- best method

After doing ALL the updates you can, and if the issue continues, then run Driver Verifier.

Hi Bariscan, I am Rob, an Independent Advisor not affiliated with Microsoft and a 15 time and dual award Microsoft MVP specializing in Windows troubleshooting and Bluescreen analysis. Please remember as independents we are not responsible for the development of Windows or the computer hardware and drivers. If you will work with me I will be here to help until the issue is resolved.

Even one error in one pass with memtest is too many. The difference between the clean run and the one with the error was likely heat. (Heat problems do not always indicate excessively high temps are reached. A single part such as a resistor, capacitor, transistor, or a sole memory chip can be too sensitive to even the normal levels of heat and fail. Such failure can happen if the temp exceeds a certain temp, or if the heat is held above a certain temp for a variable period of time, or even as it cools.)

Added that multiple different BugCheck often indicate a hardware problem.

    There were 4 different BugCheck in the 5 DMP files - 2 each 1A and 1 each 4E, 2B, & C2.

These are the two main indicators of a possible hardware issue - here showing the BugCheck and the actual output of the analysis.

    FAULTY_HARDWARE_CORRUPTED_PAGE (12b)

This bugcheck indicates that a single bit error was found in this page. This is a hardware memory error. <-- Actual output of WinDBG.

    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a)

    # Any other values for parameter 1 must be individually examined.

MODULE_NAME: hardware <-- Actual output of WinDBG.

None of the 5 analyses indicated a definite driver/software issue though there were 2 consistent implications across ALL 5 dmp files so the below are involved at some level.

    Unloaded modules:

    fffff8026b2c0000 fffff8026b2c8000 magdrvamd64. <-- Samsung Magician

    fffff8025c850000 fffff8025c85f000 klelam.sys <-- Kaspersky

    1. Fully uninstall Samsung Magician while testing.
    2. Fully uninstall Kaspersky and use only Windows Defender. In Windows 8/8.1, 10, & 11 WD is a full antivirus.

    1. Continue testing with memtest. Memory tests do not catch all errors such as mismatched memory (possible even for sticks that appear to be identical) and when faster memory is placed in the system behind slower memory. So it is best to also swap sticks in and out to check for those even if all memory tests fail to show a problem. Reduce the system down to the minimum memory (4 GB if possible.)
    2. Check with Gigabyte Support, their online documentation, and drivers, diagnostics, and ask in their forums about any known issues. Update the BIOS, low-level chipset drivers, and the major onboard and separate device drivers (see driver update methods using DriverView in the next message below).

There are newer BIOS (and those address memory chip issues) so get the latest and other updates at Gigabyte for your system.

    1. Even though the Nvidia drivers are very current they could still be involved. And it may be necessary to revert to an older stable version.

Check with Nvidia Support, their online docs, drives, diagnostics, and ask in their forums about any known issues. If there are no newer drivers you may need to revert back to an older stable driver per their instructions. Use the DDU method to remove and then install the video drivers.

    1. AFTER ALL the above then use the DriverView method in the next message to double-check all the major device drivers,

    IF needed:

    1. Use the tests in the last section of the next message to try to determine possible hardware issues.
    2. As needed use ALL the methods in the troubleshooters in the next message below.
    3. After ALL the above if needed run Driver Verifier to see if it can indicate a

CAUSE (see Driver Verifier methods in the next message below).
