'No internet access' error - browser connectivity only

For several weeks my computer (Windows 10) has been displaying the 'no internet access'/'no internet, secured' errors. This error is partly inaccurate as I have a no internet issues when using the browser. I can browse, stream, download/upload as normal. It also seems to be doing system updates without issues.

However, I cannot connect any other internet services eg. news feed, weather, apps such as Spotify or sync with google drive or onedrive etc.

I have tested my internet on other devices so this is definitely an issue with Windows and not with my connection.

What I've tried so far:

  • Tested with other networks: same issue whatever network I use
  • Troubleshooter: performed network reset as administrator, no change
  • Forget networks and reconnect
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers in device manager>network adapters, no change

It would be great to access apps and sync documents again so I would love to fix this error...

Thanks!

    Hi,

Local Group Policy is not available in the Home version.

In your case, you should try to act on the Registry key as specified in that post but if you have already tried and it doesn't solve, reset the original Registry key, then try to run the SFC and DISM tools:

    Hi franco d'esaro ,

    Thanks for your advice.

I tried to apply the fix from the post you linked but no change.

I could not find the Computer Configurations > Administrative Templates > Network settings specified in the post so I deployed the fix by modifying the registry setting as suggested in the post. It ran successfully and I restarted my device but it has not solved the problem.

Here's are my Windows specifications and I am just using the firewall and antivirus built into Windows.

    Thanks!

    Hi Caitlin_1307 ,

What is the version and build of Windows 10 and what is your Firewall / Antivirus in use?

Try applying this fix from this post if it works for you too:
