Dcom error 10016

So I’m getting multiple dcom 10016 errors and I’ve taken the time to change all the permissions and all the steps to supposedly fix it but I’m still getting them come up. They are making my computer crash to where I have to restart manually. It’s rather frustrating so any help who be hugely appreciated. I’m getting them for apps “per app runtime broker” “shell service host” “wsc broker manager” wsc cloud backup provider” “security app broker”. They either say local launch permission or local activation permission. I have gone through the component and changed all of them to local not remote as well.

So when it crashes. It’s random. At some time it was crashing when I downloaded games but now it’ll crash just randomly sometimes 1 time or 3 times in an hour. The screen goes black and it sounds like my system goes full power and the fans and everything are high gear. It’s not over heating. And in my event logs I just assumed that it was the dcom error as that’s all it was showing.

    Hello,

    From https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4022522/dcom-event-id-10016-is-logged-in-windows-10-windows-server, Microsoft says:

"These events can be safely ignored because they do not adversely affect functionality and are by design. This is the recommend action for these events."

If you still like to fix, refer this guide:

    https://www.kapilarya.com/fix-event-10016-error-the-application-specific-permission-settings-do-not-grant-local-activation-permission-in-windows-10

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Eric,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

10016 is present on all computers and not related to computer crashing.

DCOM event ID 10016 is logged in Windows

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/w...

These events can be safely ignored because they don't adversely affect functionality and are by design. It's the recommend action for these events.

When you say crash, is it a random reboot or a Blue screen of death?
