Dear all,

I'm facing a serious problem, I can't restore my exchange back to work.

The marge process was running when the host got no more space on the disk. So it changed to critical state.

Now i extended a partition but I can't get it back.

Can someone have any idea?
I'm running exchange server 2013 on a Windows Server 2012 R2.

Best regards,
Nelson Chamba

    Hi,

Thanks for posting on our forum!

Based on your descriptions, I need to check a few things first:

    1) What kind of vhd(x) disk did you expand? Differencing disk or not?

    2) What do you mean "you cannot get it back", how did you try to recover the disk back to a previous status and can you give me any error messages or codes about this failure?

    3) Did you solve your "critical" status after extending a partition? Actually, it seems that it is your physical disk that is out of space, if so, it can be useless to extending a virtual disk. Instead, you should add an extra physical disk to your host, or just transfer your avhd files to an USB if you don't want to clear your snapshots.

Above all, if your situation is that you cannot restore your vhd meanwhile your original issue is not solved, then we need to solve your "can't get it back" issue and check physical and virtual disk conditions. Based on the outcomes, we then try to solve your "out of free space" issue.

    Thanks for your support!

    BR,
    Joan
